The principals on Game 2
HOUSTON — Thoughts from some of the principals heading into tonight’s Game 2 Jazz-Houston Rockets NBA playoffs meeting:
*Jazz All-Star Carlos Boozer: “We didn’t play our best game (in Saturday’s Game 1 victory). But we played well enough to win on the road, which says a lot.”
*Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, on going into Game 2 up 1-0: “Still, the job remains the same. It’s nice to have confidence, but you’ve got have a work ethic to go with it. Hopefully guys don?t get satisfied with the fact we won.”
*Boozer: “We expected them to play better than they did. Hopefully we can play better than we did.”
*Jazz point guard Deron Williams: “I think (Houston) is a physical team; I think we’re a physical team. So, regardless, I think it’s going to be a physical game.”
*Boozer: “(Game 1) definitely was a physical game. But there?s a lot of basketball left to be played. I’m sure it will get more physical as things get closer to the finish line.”
*Rockets All-Star Tracy McGrady: “Especially when Dikembe (Mutombo) is out of the ballgame, we have a real small team. We don’t have no shot-blocking back there. I think in order for us to succeed, as far as on the boards and in this series, we’ve got to outsmart them.”
