What next for the Jazz?
First-round draft choice Kosta Koufos is signed, franchise point guard Deron Williams is extended, veteran reserve point Jason Hart is swapped for fellow veteran reserve Brevin Knight and Oklahoma City’s four-year, nearly $15 million offer sheet signed by restricted free agent swingman C.J. Miles is matched.
A busy July indeed for the Jazz, who now have 15 players ‘ NBA max when the regular season begins ‘ under contract.
But what will August bring? Is the dealing done?
Even after matching on Miles, Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor suggested perhaps not.
‘We’ll continue to talk,” O’Connor said, ‘and try to improve the roster.”
But how?
For now, it looks (arguably at certain positions, including backup point and No. 3 center) like this:
POINT GUARD
1. Deron Williams
2. Ronnie Price
3. Brevin Knight
SHOOTING GUARD
1. Ronnie Brewer
2. Kyle Korver
3. Morris Almond
SMALL FORWARD
1. Andrei Kirilenko
2. Matt Harpring
3. C.J. Miles
POWER FORWARD
1. Carlos Boozer
2. Paul Millsap
CENTER
1. Mehmet Okur
2. Jarron Collins
3. Kosta Koufos
4. Kyrylo Fesenko
So what realistically ‘ and ‘realistically’ is the operative word here ‘ can be done?
You make the call.
