A trick-or-treat entry

A couple of Halloweenish notes from today’s practice:

— All of the Jazz players came out on the training facility floor wearing black basketball shoes. Not that I’m a fashionista, but I asked Jerry Sloan what was up with his players’ footwear.
“It’s for Halloween,” he deadpanned.
Really?
Not the case, admitted Mehmet Okur. He said the Jazz will wear black shoes for their road game Monday in Los Angeles against the Clippers, so they wore them at practice today to break them in and not as part of a team costume party.
Sloan, by the way, wore white shoes.

— Carlos Boozer sounds like a pretty fun dad. For one thing, how many guys — let alone powerful professional athletes — would wear a green Scooby Doo Band-Aid on their face DURING A GAME!!!! because their son picked it out?
I can count the list on one finger.
Boozer did just that during the preseason, which was both humorous and a cool fatherly gesture.
His latest fun dad move?
Guess which powerful professional athlete dressed as if he could live in a pineapple under the sea for Halloween?
Yep, SpongeBoozer Squarepants.
