Oh, the injuries
SAN ANTONIO ‘ They can deny it all they want, but the Jazz simply aren’t the same team without some of their injured regulars.
In Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs here, that included not only point guard Deron Williams, but also power forward Carlos Boozer.
‘It’s tough, but it’s part of the game,” said backup shooting guard Kyle Korver, who also didn’t play Friday, he because of a re-sprained shooting wrist. ‘We talked about how we’re a deep team, and we need to show it.
‘Hopefully,” Korver added, ‘Deron and Boozer get back before too long. ‘ But until then we have to deal with it.”
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan’s take on dealing with it? Get over, essentially.
‘I don’t care about that,” he said. ‘I’ve known for years we’ve been really lucky, because we haven’t had a lot of injuries. But if you do have injuries, what do you do about it? It’s a crybaby thing as far as I’m concerned. You’ve just got to go play. That’s what everybody else does, and it’s what we’re supposed to do.”

Jazz vet Matt Harpring’s thoughts on the injury situation? He feels for Sloan, it seems
‘It’s tough to coach having guys in and out of the lineup,” he said after Friday’s game. ‘(But) this is the NBA, and when you’re put in that position you have to be ready to play.

Told Sloan doesn’t want to hear it when it comes to injury questions, C.J. Miles of the Jazz nodded his head Friday night.
‘I don’t like it either,” he said. ‘But, at the same time, we’ve got guys that can, guys that can step up.”
