The man knows

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ‘ If it sounds like this man knows what he is talking about, it’s only because he does.
‘It was ‘ a good learning experience for our guys,” the man said after the Jazz beat the Memphis Grizzlies rather handily on Saturday night.
‘Utah has been doing this for quite a long time,” he added. ‘We are trying to establish toughness, and discipline ethic, and it does take time. I think we have learned a lot from them.
‘You have to play every possession with your toughness shoes on, mentally and physically,” the man continued. ‘They chip away at you. They are just so disciplined, and they play very hard. I think it is a good lesson for our guys. ‘ They make you respect the game, and they make your respect the fact that they are going to play very hard, very physically.”
Why does the man speak with such first-hand knowledge?
Perhaps it’s because the man is Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni, and he played four seasons in Utah ‘ three-plus when Frank Layden was the coach and another certain someone else was his assistant, and the rest of Jerry Sloan’s first of what is now No. 21 as head coach of the Jazz.
