More from Harris

What were the Mavericks thinking?
It seems that’s just what some in the NBA’s Western Conference had to be thinking themselves after Devin Harris ‘ the New Jersey point guard once dumped by Dallas in the deal that brought Jason Kidd back to the Mavs ‘ recently blew through the West.
Harris merely scored 34 points and shot 13-of-16 from the field when the Nets beat the Jazz last Saturday in Utah.
The 25-year-old University of Wisconsin product was matched most of the night with Jazz/Team USA Olympic point Deron Williams, who readily admitted afterward that he had trouble keeping Harris in front of him.
One night later, the hot Harris merely dropped a career-high 47 points on Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns.
And one day after that, Harris was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week ‘ capping a week in which the Nets went 3-1, and he merely averaged 30.0 points, including a game-winner in overtime at Sacramento the night before Thanksgiving.
Asked Monday morning if he felt any better knowing Harris scored 47 against Nash and the Suns, Williams couldn’t help but smile.
‘Yeah, I felt a lot better,” he chuckled.
‘Nah,” Williams added after reporters finished laughing with him. ‘He does definitely have to prove a point since he got traded, and he’s doing a great job of it.”
