Ways around KJZZ-DirecTV squabble

A few items of interest ‘ and ways for Jazz fans to skirt the feud ‘ relative to the still-ongoing squabble between KJZZ-TV and DirecTV, which is being denied retransmission rights for the Jazz-affiliated station’s programming because the satellite provider doesn’t want to pay for what it previously had received for free:
‘Wednesday’s Jazz game against New Orleans was the first denied to viewers because of the impasse in negotiations, but multiple readers reported still being able to receive KJZZ and the game by simply reattaching the antenna ‘ good old-fashioned rabbit ears ‘ to their TV;
‘Other readers reported being able to watch the KJZZ feed via DirecTV because they also subscribe to NBA League Pass, though that may be the case only for out-of-market customers; and
‘KJZZ’s original press release on the matter quoted station manager Chris Baum as saying, in part, that DirecTV has ‘deemed that the 16 premiere Jazz games produced in High Definition and aired by KJZZ are of no value to their customers.” But that’s yet another deceiving assertion by the station, since in reality only 10 games from January 1 through the end of the regular season ‘ nine after Wednesday’s ‘ are scheduled to be carried solely on KJZZ. Two others that are being aired on KJZZ also can be seen nationally on ESPN, and all the rest of the Jazz’s remaining regular-season games will be aired by TNT, FSN Utah and/or ESPN. The same press release, incidentally and as previously reported, quoted Baum as saying, ‘DirecTV has denied KJZZ a retransmission consent agreement,” when in practical reality it’s the other way around.
