Big game? What big game?

DENVER – They go into tonight’s Northwest Division showdown with Denver 14-22 when playing away from home this season, including 0-10 against the rest of the NBA Western Conference’s top nine teams.
Nuggets coach George Karl may not know the specific numbers.
But he does know enough about how the Jazz’s road woes to say this to reporters in Denver following the Nuggets’ win over New York earlier this week:
“I hope it continues.”

Carlos Boozer deemed it “monumental.” Carmelo Anthony called it “special,” and Chauncey Billups simply said it’s “a big game.”
The Denver Post evidently does not concur.
The Post’s sports-front Thursday was almost all Denver Broncos/Jay Cutler news, with a hockey story that had Wayne Gretzky talking about Colorado Avalanche star Joe Sakic’s injury woes stripped across the bottom.
Advance story on the otherwise much-ballyhooed Jazz-Nuggets game? It was relegated to Page 5C.

From the for-whatever-it’s-worth department: TNT’S broadcast crew for tonight’s game will include P.J. Carlesimo, who was fired earlier this season as head coach in Oklahoma City.
