Remember Derrick Brown?

BYU fans might recall Xavier forward Derrick Brown, who worked out for the Jazz on Saturday.
That’s because he would be the same Derrick Brown who as a redshirt freshman pulled down 16 rebounds while playing just 16 minutes in Xavier’s 2007 first-round NCAA tournament win over the Cougars.
Remember Brown now?
The 16 boards, incidentally, tied Xavier’s NCAA individual tourney-game record – initially set by Brian Grant, a first-round pick, No. 8 overall, in 1994, who merely went on to a 12-season NBA career with Sacramento, Portland, Miami, the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix and Boston.
(As an added aside, Grant acknowledged last month that he’s been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease.)
At 6-foot-8 and 227 pounds, Brown gives up one inch and about 27 pounds to Grant.
Which, with the NBA Draft coming Thursday night, prompts one to ponder … What can Brown do for the Jazz?
