Remember Jeff Teague?
Welcome to tonight’s installment of NBA Draft prospects who did in BYU.
When we last left you, Xavier’s Derrick Brown was pulling down 16 boards in 16 minutes of a 2007 NCAA tourney win over the Cougars.
Next up: Wake Forest point guard Jeff Teague.
Yes, that would be the same Jeff Teague who dropped 30 points in a January win over BYU.
“It was a very good game against BYU,” said Teague, who worked out for the Jazz earlier today and is a possible pick for Utah at No. 20 overall in Thursday night’s draft. “It was a crazy environment. I loved it. I had a good game. Got the win. That was the biggest thing for us. And I enjoyed being in Utah.”
The trip here left Teague with a good feel about just how passion there is for basketball in the state.
“You can tell,” he said. “As soon as we got off the plane, got to the gymnasium, you heard the people, you heard everyone speaking, you heard everybody talking. … ‘LEE CUMMARD.’ ”
Teague suggested he’d have no reservations about calling the area home.
“It was a good stop,” Teague said. “I enjoyed being out here in Utah. Flying over the city, Salt Lake, it looked so beautiful. It’d be a pleasure to play here.”
