Dodging Deron and Kyle

A friendly warning for people roaming around Salt Lake City: Deron Williams and Kyle Korver just might peg you in the head with a rubber ball when you least expect it.

The Jazz players have released a humorous video to get word out about their upcoming 2009 Dodge Barrage – a charity dodgeball tournament – and the clip shows them going around the city throwing balls at all sorts of people, including a dude on a moped, women shopping, even somebody in the lavatory, well, let’s say … powdering his nose.

It’s a pretty fun video - check it out here – and shows the goofy, playful personality these two friends and teammates can have. (Notice, however, that they run away with their tails between their legs the only time they pick on somebody sorta their own size.)

As for the dodgeball tournament, it will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Jazz training facility – officially called the Zions Bank Basketball Center.

The event, which cost teams $400 to enter, has been so well received that wannabe participants are being put on a waiting list. More info – and videos of the Jazz players’ guerilla-style training – is available at deronwilliams.net and kylekorver.com.

The Christmas Box House of Salt Lake City is the benefiting charity.
