Boozer in crowd attracts attention
By themselves, two young guys who arrived to EnergySolutions Arena with doctored basketball jerseys and a homemade sign made Thursday’s preseason game worth watching.
One of the fans’ shirts was red, and was adorned with a taped-on piece of paper that had the word “Bulls” on the front. The back of the jersey had “Boozer” written on it.
The other wise guy tampered his white hoops shirt to look like a Jazz jersey for Tyrus Thomas.
Throughout the game, the faux Boozer held up a “Trade us” poster in reference to offseason trade rumors that reportedly included the teams swapping those players.
The occupants of press row were not the only ones who got a good laugh out of it.
During a timeout, Mehmet Okur, C.J. Miles, Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams all stared up into the stands – about five rows up from the home bench – to see what the funny fuss was all about.
Williams wouldn’t admit it afterward, but he cracked a smile, and some of the other players openly laughed about it.
Those guys certainly set the bar high for the rest of the season as far as funny fans go.

Some quips from press row:
- One reporter joked about how the Rocky Mountain Revue was held this year after all – it just happened to show up in the second quarter of this preseason game. When he said the remark, Chris Andersen was the biggest name on the court for either team.
- Fans started chanting “M-V-P!” for Deron Williams during the game. A different funny man on press row pointed out that D-Will was indeed leading the league in scoring.
The Jazz point guard had 16 points at the time, which is what he finished with. Judging by the media member’s criteria, C.J. Miles is another leading MVP contender. He also ended up with 16 points in a pretty solid outing.
