Jazz going green

Tim Buckley just wrote about the Jazz going retro 10 times this season with throwback green uniforms, which is pretty much the coolest news I’ve heard in a while.

Doing a little more research on this subject – could be the Irish in me coming out and excitement about St. Patrick’s Day green garb Utah will wear on March 17 – I’ve found some pics of the Incredible-Hulk-and-Kermit-The-Frog-and-Al-Gore-approved unis:

Have to give credit where it’s due, too. ESPN.com Page 2′s Paul Lukas posted a link on his “Uni Watch NBA preview” that came out this week. He also had this to say about Utah’s unis:

“Remember back around 1981, when the Jazz wore green road uniforms? Right, neither does anyone else, but you’ll get a memory jog when when the team breaks out these awesome green throwbacks on Dec. 4.”

No doubt, these duds will make opponents green with envy when the Jazz put these bad boys on.

P.S. Anyone else hoping the old-school J-note logo that’s been floating around the past year gets adopted as the new logo? I’d even settle for it on a non-green uniform.
