Sloan a big Thunder fan too

It’s already established that Jazz coach Jerry Sloan is a big San Antonio Spurs fan (see last entry).
Turns out he’s a big Oklahoma City Thunder fan, too.
“They’ve got a terrific young team,” Sloan said of the Thunder, who visit the Jazz on Tuesday night. “That’s just a team that’s gonna get better.”
Sloan considers Oklahoma City — formerly the Seattle Sonics — a beneficiary of the NBA Draft system.
“They’re young,” he said of a club featuring 21-year-old Kevin Durant, 23-year-old Jeff Green and 21-year-old Russell Westbrook. “That’s the advantage of losing games and getting better players.
“They’ve done good job of getting good players and making the right choice,” he added. “They (Thunder brass) know the business very well, and, I think, have done an excellent job of getting players.”
Sloan recommends that his 7-6 Jazz not underestimate the 7-7 Thunder, whose wins this season includes ones over Orlando, San Antonio and Miami.
“I don’t think there’s any guarantee when you’re p[laying them,” he said. “They’ve got enough talent to beat anybody. Like young teams, they’re gonna be up and down a little bit. But, hey, veteran teams are like that.”
