A few thoughts from Boozer

LOS ANGELES — A few thoughts from Jazz power forward Carlos Boozer, looking forward and back, heading into tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers:

Boozer on the key to extending a stretch in which the Jazz have won eight of their last 10 games:
“We’ve got to take that same energy out there (tonight) and be ready to play,” he said. “Share the ball offensively, defend as well as we can, and run the ball when we can run the ball, and see if we can just continue to build our confidence up and continue to improve.”

Boozer on Lakers big man Pau Gasol:
“Pau is a winner at every level he’s played at, and for me, it’s always a challenge to go against guys like that,” he said. “He’s got a championship ring, he’s been very successful in his career, so I look forward to playing against him.”

Boozer on the Jazz beating the San Antonio Spurs three straight times this season, including last Monday’s win at home:
“We know what San Antonio is going to be at the end of the season. … They’ll be in the playoffs, no matter what seed it will be in,” he said. “They’ve won four rings in the last 10, 11 years, whatever’s it’s been. They’re a great team, by all standards, by all accounts.
“So, for us to beat them the way we’ve beaten them this season — whether it was by one point or by points or whatever it’s been by — it’s huge for our team and our franchise. We definitely take confidence from that, and we definitely hope we can build off that momentum going into (tonight’s) game.”
