Matt Harpring: Media Mogul

Now that his playing days are over, Matt Harpring is becoming quite the media superstar.

He’s appeared on NBA-TV to do analysis work.

He’s spent time providing in-game commentary for Jazz games both on TV with Craig Bolerjack and Ron Boone and on the radio with David Locke. (Here’s one person who thinks he does an excellent job, by the way. Heck, he even called Matt Bonner a “Jazz killer” BEFORE he dropped 28 on Utah earlier this week.)

He’s also sat on the FSN set for the pregame, halftime and postgame shows with David James and crew.

His latest endeavor appeared online this week for NBA.com. He wrote a guest commentary – and he’s confirmed that it was indeed his own work and words – for the league’s Web site about Tracy McGrady’s ordeal with microfracture surgery.

That, unfortunately, is something Harpring is somewhat of an expert on, seeing as he’s had a couple of those procedures on his own body over the years. His in-depth and interesting piece is called: “T-Mac’s long road back from microfracture a familiar trip.”
