Tale of two halves

MINNEAPOLIS — So how does someone go from shooting 1-for-10 in the first half, like Jazz power forward Carlos Boozer did during Wednesday’s win at Minnesota, to 4-for-5 in the second half?
Boozer, for one, offered some insight following Utah’s victory over the Timberwolves.
“I tried to stay with it,” he said. “My teammates told me to keep going in.
“The shots I missed, I was right around the rim,” Boozer added. “So I stayed with it, came out the second half and did the same thing I did in the first half — but made them.”
Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, whose club closes a two-game trip tonight at Oklahoma City, shed some light on the subject as well.
“He got on top of the basket a couple times,” Sloan said. “(Early) in the second half he was able to turn inside quick, and got to the basket. I think (after that) his confidence to be able to score was a little bit higher.”
Moral of the story, or so it seems: Don’t shy from going inside to get going.
