Jazz are focused group
They’re bringing a split back to Salt Lake City, and there have been some obvious bright spots for the Utah Jazz thus far in the first-round series.
For starters, how about the play of Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and, yes, even Kyrylo Fesenko. (Carmelo Anthony plowing through Jazz defenders like his body was entered in a demolition derby didn’t hurt, either.)
From Ronnie Price’s vantage point, it isn’t just what the Jazz have done on the court that’s helped them be competitive and seize home-court advantage in this series. The veteran backup guard believes the Jazz are in a zone both on and off the court.
“I’ve just been pleased with the team’s spirit and character as far as the way guys have been handling the playoffs and handling themselves in their spare time as far as working on their game, getting treatments,” Price said at practice Thursday.
“You can tell that a lot of people are really focused and that’s a very positive sign for us,” the former Utah Valley star added. “Hopefully, that positive attitude and that focused attitude can lead to two wins on our home court.”
The fact that occasional goof-off Kyrylo Fesenko was included in that group of focused Jazz players might not be what Carmelo’s fans in Utah want to hear.
