Good Night, John-Boy
Right around now, backup power forward Paul Millsap is napping.
Several of his teammates are doing the same, even with critical Game 3 of a second-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers on tap tonight.
It’s a typical routine not only for Jazz players, but also many in the NBA: morning shootaround, good lunch, nice afternoon nap, then head to the arena.
Usually, Millsap gets in two solid hours’ worth of sleep.
But with tonight’s start time scheduled for shortly after 6 p.m. instead of the normal 7 p.m. — thanks, ABC — Millsap will slice his rest time in half.
He didn’t sound especially happy about it this morning, but tried to find a bright side: “That might help out a little bit,” Millsap said. “Maybe I sleep too long. Naptime (usually) is probably two hours. I’ll cut it down to an hour today, and see what happens tonight.”
