Blizzard in Boston

I just peeked out of my hotel window here in Boston, and the sun is trying to peek out of its windows in the clouds. According to Weather.com, it’s currently a balmy 30 degrees (feels like 17, though!) and the temperatures will be dropping down to the low 20s by this evening.

Why the New England weather report on the Jazz blog?

Well, for a while today I wondered if the game might not be played due to The Great Blizzard of 2011 (a distant relative of Utah’s Great Blizzard of 2010). This corner of Massachusetts received six inches of snow this morning, causing school closures and nasty conditions for commuting.

It was so bad the Jazz didn’t travel to the arena to do their usual gameday morning shootaround to prep for the Celtics.

The good news: There is only a 10 percent chance of precipitation the rest of the day, so there’s no reason to believe inclement weather will cause any more delays or cancellations the rest of the day.

Then again, the way Utah is playing lately …
