Josh Howard’s charity bowling event

Josh Howard is going bowling for charity tonight. Here are details about the event from a Jazz press release:

SALT LAKE CITY (April 19, 2012) – Utah Jazz forward Josh Howard will help raise money for charity this week as he hosts a celebrity bowling tournament on Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Park City, Utah. The tourney will be held at Jupiter Bowl, located at 1090 Center Drive in the Newpark Town Center, and the event will run from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Celebrities participating in the event include Howard, Utah Jazz players and members of the Jazz coaching staff.

Athletes from the Special Olympics Utah bowling team will be featured as well, with celebrities and Special Olympics participants pairing up as part of the competition.

General admission to the event is a $20 donation, which can be made online at or at the door that night. Admission includes entrance to the event, opportunities for door prizes and giveaways, and access to a 45-minute autograph session that begins at 7 p.m. Bowling lanes will be available for use on a first come, first served basis; however, general admission does not cover food, beverage or bowling fee.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Utah and the Josh Howard Foundation.  The Josh Howard Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization which focuses on improving the quality of life in economically challenged communities through programs that center predominantly on helping youth and seniors.

Some of the programs operated by the foundation include: D.A.S.H. All-Stars, which focuses on rewarding teens who excel in academics and community service; Comfort of Love, which provides clothing, blankets and toiletries to assisted living centers; Josh & Me Learning Hour, which fosters literacy in elementary school children; and No Excuses, which helps children and teens from diverse backgrounds develop their potential and increase their self-esteem.

Dear Jody, I was hoping that I might get a high resolution photo of the charity bowling event Josh Howard held at Jupiter Bowl. I would love to include a small blurb in our Industry News section. Thanks for your help.
